Results of RFP-02, March 23, 2007
In the Midwestern Region, 43 preproposals were submitted in response to Notice RFP-02; 18 preproposals were selected in a competitive peer review process to be developed into full proposals. Each of the full proposals received was then reviewed by a panel of technical experts and ad hhoc reviewers. Four proposals were selected based on the merit review and the fit of each proposal to the terms of the RFP. Three of the four selected proposals are collaborative efforts, resulting in the seven projects that can be viewed on the Midwest Research Projects page.
New NICCR Center, July 17, 2006
The selection of the new NICCR Coastal Center has been completed. Seven competitive applications were submitted in April, and reviewed by a panel of technical experts shortly thereafter. As a result of the competitive review, the application from Tulane University was selected by DOE. NICCR requests for proposals now includes a fifth research focus on potential effects of climatic change and/or sea level rise on the structure and functioning of coastal terrestrial ecosystems. All maritime coastal ecosystem research to be supported by NICCR will be in the United States.
Results of RFP-01, June 2006The Midwestern Region received 81 preproposals in response to Notice RFP-01. Of those, 24 were selected in a competitive peer review process to be developed into full proposals reviewed by a panel of technical experts and ad hoc reviewers. Six proposals were selected for funding based on the merit review and the fit of each proposal to the terms of the RFP.
